ADoes anyone have an idea on how to make a bed cake? Do you use a mini loaf pan or what. I'm stumped any answers would help a lot.
I made a bed cake years ago. I just made a square cake and cut it to size then made ends for the bed. It's only a rectangle.
Or if you want a mini bed you could use a mini loaf pan as you suggested. I made a full size cake.

I made this cake for my son's 1st bday using a 9x13 pan, cutting it in half and stacking it :)

A I know this is a bit late, but I've just finished this bed as a topper for a 10'' square. The lady originally wanted the bed to be the actual cake but needed it to feed more people so compromised on the topper instead. This is made from RKT and foam core board. I could also make this a little bit in advance this way too!
I just saw this too, here's mine. Way easier than I thought it would be. Basically a rectangle cake cut to size.
Thanks K8, it was a Bat Mitzvah gift for the daughter of our close friends. She originally said she wanted a make up table but I asked if I could have a free hand and she agreed so I made this. She was so so happy.
AClaire138 and Cara1982, your beds look really good. What size pans did you guys use?
AI made a 10inch square then made the bed out of RKT it wouldn't have been big enough to serve all her guests otherwise. The bed itself was about 6inches long.
I used a 9 by 12 rectangle but cut it down slightly. The make up commode was also cake.
