They do it because it works. They actually succeed in getting enough 'bites' from people to make an illegal profit$$$
Remember when the Nigerian scam first arrived....It was a great bolt of shock to hear some people that I knew, saying they were going to send money 
It also used to increase a site's google rankings to have that many links out there. So their websites would score higher in google searches if their links were all over the place, even if it was repeated ninety times in a row. They've fixed that in the last couple of years, but people still do it.

I just started a threat about this too. Isn't a shame how they sign up in the site just to spam? its annoying. I had to scroll like crazy in order for me to read posts about CAKES or BAKING! which is what we all should be here for! SMH!!! 
All they have to do is have whoever designed this site to get off their lazy butts and put a captcha in where they have to sign up. It wouldn't sotp them completley but they wouldn't be able to have a bot do it, and the spammers would probably move on to a different site.
I used to report them but I can't even be bothered anymore.
AWe should go to Huddler's FB and tell them to fix this! :evil:

I chose the name because my Great Nephew calls me mimi. He came up with it himself. If you ask him what Mimi does he says Mimi makes cakes. He also barrels in here every Saturday morning declaring , Mimi I NEED cake. I better get going he will be here soon.
