AIt's been years and years since I signed up, and I finally got my first call for an Icing Smiles cake! I'm so excited! Just wanted to share my excitement. :-) I know many many MANY people have already had this wonderful experience, some more than once.

I have just Googled them as I had no idea what this was.  How very humbling.  A lovely, thing to be a part of.  I can't think of anywhere here in the UK that does something similar.

Jamie, that is awesome! The same thing happened to me yesterday, I got my first call to action from them and I have been up all night thinking about a design. This is so exciting.

AI think we do have something similar actually Kathy, not sure tho and it was a while ago I was reading about it. Wow AZ and Rosie! You must be so excited. :-)

That is very exciting!  I just read up on it too and I think it would be an honor for anyone to do!  I think I'm going to sign up too, even though my cakes are nothing like yours!  My sister just got a call today as a match for a bone marrow donor.  Making a cake is nowhere near as painful as that but you can still feel really great about it.  Please post more about what you're going to be doing and what the cake will be like.

AI'm definitely planning on making a tiara, I love making those.

We have the Make A Wish foundation here and last year we were asked to make cupcakes for a little girl. They requested 12 cupcakes puppy themed and we had staff ask if they could volunteer their time just so they could be a part of it.  It was truly a wonderful/sad/happy/amazing experience for us all.  You will get so much more out of it than you put in. Congratulations on being selected, can't wait to see what you come up with, I'm sure your cakes will be amazing.
