How do I make a two tier cake? Do I need dowels? Can I use cake mix? Do I need to freeze the cake? Does it need to stay refridgerated? I'd be using fondant....or like to try using fondant so what's a good recipe? TIA.

Go to the search bar within cakecentral and put inquiries there.  TONS of info that has been answered a million and one times!

Good Luck!

Here's a video that explains both the dowels and how to stack a cake.  http://www.make-fabulous-cakes.com/tiered-cakes.html

You can use cake mix, but it may not be sturdy enough for fondant.  There are lots of great recipes that are better suited to stacked cakes.

I buy my fondant so I can't give you a good recipe for that, but use the search feature at the top and you should find many and they have all been reviewed multiple times by those that do make their own.
