I have a request for a 5 tier cake covered in fondant.  8,10,12,14 with 16 inch dummy on bottom.  All tiers with be 5 inch high.  Will the bottom cake dummy support the weight of the other 4 tiers?   This cake is going to be really heavy with lots of added fondant decorations and flowers.  Yikes......  roll roll that fondant, dreaming of that sheeter!!  Thanks

AI don't see why not, but while you're at it, could you top that eight inch tier off with a six inch dummy maybe? Unless you have plans for a really large topper to make that eight inch top tier not look so huge? Just a thought, in case you hadn't considered how that will look.

Thanks AZ!! Tried to get her to consider a 6,8,10,12,14 but she said the 6 inch looked like a cupcake to her.  Geez, a bride wants what she wants.  LOL  I will be making monograms for top and adding flowers so I should be able to keep things in balance.  Amazing that those dummies can hold so much weight, but I do trust your opinion completely.  Thanks again!!!

AIt's polystyrene. I'm pretty sure you could sit on it and it wouldn't budge!

AOh that's too funny. I won't even use a six inch unless I really have to, which is thankfully very rarely. I prefer a 4, and will do a 5, but I don't really even care for that large of a top tier either.
