Some have been following my progress on facebook, but I want to shout it from the rooftops .... I DID IT! I GRADUATED COLLEGE!!! Just one month short of my 55th birthday, I graduated with a teaching degree. However I will confess the best part was getting my actual teaching license just 1 day before my birthday! I landed a substitute teaching job right away .... a 2-month minimum assignment .... at the same school I did my student teaching in last semester.
I closed my shop due to arthritis in my neck (which is acting up during these arctic temps we're having) and enrolled in school right after. It has been four long AND short years!!
To quote the song from the musical "Cinderella" .......
"it's possible. Things are happenin' every .....day!!!!"
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am so happy for you! There is no limit to one person can do if she really wants it, and then works hard to get it. I am impressed and inspired, and will remember you later this week when I think I can't make it through. GOOD LUCK in your new career! (but don't forget how to bake!)
Wow!!! Such a great post to read this morning. Congratulations to you and happy birthday! What a fabulous birthday present and a huge accomplishment. All the best to you on your teaching adventures. You have been a great mentor on CC so I have no doubt your students will learn so much from you!!!

Congratulations to you!!!! You are already a great teacher, as witnessed by us here on CC who appreciate your knowledge, and you will be great in the classroom. One lesson you have already made abundantly clear is that it is never too late to start. That is a lesson that can benefit anyone in whatever endeavor.

Congratulations on such an accomplishment....You should be very proud of yourself. Best of wishes in finding a job that you are happy with. I , like others, have benefited from your wisdom and experience. You have a lot to offer and anyplace will be lucky to have you.
