Hi !   I haven't decorated a cake in 3 years, and my son begged me to do one for his birthday.  He loves to grill/smoke and I wanted to do the grill cake for him.   His speciality is ribs, but my fondant ribs looked horrible.

I have seen some pictures on here of fondant ribs, that almost look real.  I can the " Bones or Ribs" looking pretty good.  But the meat?   I can't come up with the right colors.  Is there anyone out there that can help me?

I'd really appreciate it!  As I said, I've not done this in 3 years, and I'd like to make sure this cake is as good as he remembers.

Thank you so much!!!

I'd do a very dark red, mix in some black, then go over that with brown. Thinned a little and applied sparingly with a brush.

Or do a reddish brown, and brush on a dark red. I can see either one working. Look at the color of your real BBQ sauce and take it from there. I'm thinking they are usually more brown.
