Hi guys :)

Basically I want to make a cone shape sponge cake on a square sponge. I was just wondering on the best way to do it?

I was thinking of stacking it from the bottom with an 8", 7", 6" and a cupcake to top it off. I know I have to board and support them, but could I build them up with all the support and then carve them? Or would I have to try and carve each cake and then stack it?

Thanks!

Hiya,

I made this wedding cake a while ago.

Each tier was 2" smaller than the last. I cut 1" off at an angle, then added this off cut to the bottom. Each tier had it's own board and was dowelled.

I carved the bottom, dowelled then carved the next one.

Your plan sounds great, but I think it's too big a gap from 6" to a cup cake. Maybe 4" then cup cake?

Hope this helps

:-D
