I love this forum!!! Everyone is so helpful. I feel so at home!

I recently bought 25lb of H&R flour by Bay State Milling for $9.95. Why is it called H&R instead of AP? What's the difference?

I'm looking for good reports about it in making cakes. It does make a pretty nice banana bread though.

It depends on the brand.  Some are just all purpose flour repackaged.  You would have to contact the manufacturer to be sure.

Should work fine wherever you normally use AP flour.
