Hi, I just read the book "The Complete Photo Guide to Cake Decorating" and in it they use The Smart Marker a lot.  It seems like it would be a worthwhile tool to have, but I would rather hear from real users before buying this.  It's not the one from Wilton.  Here's a link:  http://www.countrykitchensa.com/whatshot/garland_markers_smart.aspx

I did what this video said to do with cutting a cup in half. Worked like a charm. I have never used the smart marker so I can not comment but I am sure the experts here on cc will have an answer for you. I only do as a hobby so I took the easy way which worked great for me. See below.
