Does anyone know how to attain a true black.  I am making an engagement cake and the cake box is black,  I am using wilton black but its coming out gray/green.  HELP

How much food coloring have you put in?

AYou may have to add more black since fondant is white

AYou need a LOT of colouring to make true black.

I refuse to make certain colors....black is one.   I buy Satin Ice black.

same here, I purchase black and red, I can never seem to get those colors the way I want. Satin Ice as well.

AWe always use purchased black and red. Just not worth my time and effort to knead in all that colour.

i always use commercially made black.
