I am making this cake for Oct 1st....http://cakefixation.blogspot.com/2012/03/how-to-make-fire-breathing-dragon-cake.html

I have built the board. I made the ears just by guessing. Instead of a 12X18 and cutting it in 1/2 I am just using 2 9x11 so the body will be an inch shorter... What size should I cut the short dowels for the wings? I have 4 cakes to do that week..this one, a semi-truck, a purse and a Sweetopolita birthday cake. I want to do as much as possible now since I will also start school that week, retire, and have to get ready for a cake show...I am getting a tad stressed......

I would guestimate that if the original body is 12" long, the top dowel in the wing looks like it is around 4" long. So maybe make your's 3.5" or so? Any bigger and I think the dragon will stop looking so "cute".
