Does anyone have any good and fairly accurate sources where i can find a traditional world war 1 chocolate cake recipe?
I need to make either an 8 or 10 inch cake.... and as the theme is blood and chocolate i'm thinking of creating a cherry centre (blood)
so any advice on how to do that so it's like a secret middle would also be welcome
AYou could make a lava cake with cherry ganache center. For authentic recipes I would start looking for cookbooks online that were published during those years.
ooohhhhhhh a lava cake? never heard of that and how do you make cherry ganache?
Lava cake is dark chocolate cake with cherry embedded into it. You can see various cake recipes at http://www.bhg.com/recipes/desserts/chocolate/dark-chocolate-dessert-recipes/#page=1
There you will get some good flavor of cakes.
i think i have al alternative route now... looking at a chocolate orange cake like terry's and depending on my time i might try and make it look like one
