Im making a wedding cake and I put Royal Icing on a foam base as a type of "crumb coating"  Hoping it will give the smooth base I need. The wedding is in 2 weeks. But I wanted to do it now so that I have time to fix any hic-ups.

I want to put my marshmallow fondant over the base.

Now my questions are:

How long with the fondant last just for appearance? - we will not be eating the foam base.

Can anyone PLEASE give me any tips on how to do this

Thank you

AYou can spray the royal icing with water to get the fondant to stick to it. The fondant will last years... But i would keep it covered to protect it from dust, etc.
