AHello everyone... I'm new to cake central... Wondering if anyone could help me with my slowly progressing baking skills!

I'm baking a cake for a friend's 20th birthday which is next wednesday... And to decorate it I'll be using fondant flowers! My question is how early shall I make the flowers? The plan is to make multicoloured flowers and I dont want the colours to fade away... So what would be the best time to make them?

And anyone has any ideas on what I could do for the sides of the cake... Because it'll be a tall cake and I dont wanna leave the sides absolutely empty?

I would appreciate your help and ideas :)

Thank you, Zuleikha

you can make them now. Just keep them in a box or something out of the sunlight or they will fade.
