I was talking with a friend who makes extract for gifts. She was talking about selling it at an upcoming event. I mentioned that this is probably not legal. The thought had never occurred to her. I have been researching and found info on other states but not for VA. Would she be able to sell under CFL? Using a commercial kitchen? Or would it require  ABC license since it is about 40% alcohol? Anyone in Va familiar with this? Either way she is giving me a bottle and I can't wait to try it. She uses Madagascar beans. But she is asking me for advice now..of course I told her to check with the jurisdiction on the local laws. But I would like to help her out if she has a really good product.

She needs to call VDACS.

There is potential for contamination since you're talking about bottling stuff so I'm not sure what they would say about that.
