I am going to be making cake that i have to do some careving to shape it like a xbox console and controll what is a good chocolate cake repice that will hard up to careving? i am new to this so i will need a step by step

 

also what is a simple way to make a choclate flavor buttercream it will need to be white since the color of a xbox is white thanks for your help

AWhy don't you just cover in in fondant if it needs to be white and they want chocolate buttercream? I don't have a recipe for white chocolate buttercream sorry.

Dont like the taste of fondant so i dont cover in it

AOh ok, have you ever tried MMF? It doesn't taste like the fondant you buy.

ASomeone posted a method on another thread that should work for you in this situation. I can't remember who or where it was, but basically they said to cover the cake in chocolate buttercream, refrigerate it until the buttercream is firm and then do a thin layer of your desired colour (in this case, white) overtop. I have never done this, but it sounds like it would work. You might need to do a couple of layers of the white, refrigerating between layers.
