AMy boss buys satin ice pre made gumpaste. She also doesn't have ac...so the bakery gets to be as high as 100 degrees at times...yea, I make most of the cakes in the walk-in :(

But I need to make a gumpaste stiletto for next week. I tried starting it at work and it was literally melting in my hands. So I took it home to do where its 70 degrees and still just melting in my hands. So I went out n bought wilton gumpaste to finish the job and had great results.

So is it possible that the unopened tub of satin ice brand gumpaste was destroyed from being in a store that ranges from 80-100 degrees? Or is satin ice just a very difficult brand to work with?

I can always work with premade wilton over satin ice. It is always too soft for me to use. I work in air condition home.
