AHas anybody entered a fancy cake competition or Irish soda bread contest at a Feis? We are new to the Feis world; my daughter just participated for the first time this weekend. This particular Feis, in addition to the dancing, has contests for Irish soda bread and fancy cakes. There were no rules anywhere on the website or syllabus so we did not enter. There is another one in several months. Do you know if dummy cakes are allowed for the fancy cake contest, or does it all have to be edible? What size cake are they looking for? I don't want to spend a lot of money for this, but I try not to discourage my daughter. She wants to enter the bread contest and wants me to enter the cake contest; she wants to help with that. She plans to draw the cake she wants to make, then she will enter her drawing in the art contest. Yep, she LOVES entering contests.
