I have a client who brought in a pic off Pinterest (where else-lol) and I am not sure how to make the ruffles/roses or if they are even ruffles or roses. Has anyone seen these and know how to make? Your help is appreciated. I want to make sure I give credit where credit is due--thanks ConnieCupcake

I believe they're made by cutting circles and folding them into quarters.

Yeah, I cut circles and then pinch the circle upward with 4 or 6 fingers (that's really hard to explain but just try it and it might make more sense). Then place them in empty egg crates until they dry. I hope that helps :)

I did a cake like this last year! I just cut out circles and folded them into different shapes. I would suggest rolling the fondant thin so it has more movement. Good luck! Oh also, a big suggestion would be to do the pearls/dragees first and then add the ruffles. It was challenging to put the pearls in after the ruffles were there.

Good luck!

Any idea on the size to cut the circles?  I was thinking around 3".  Also thanks to everyone for your help.

It just depends how big your cake is, and how much you want the ruffles to stand out. Cut out a few in different sizes and see what looks right.
