I have a cake I'm doing the end of June that's a chocolate cake with Bavarian cream in the middle (like vanilla pudding)

I really like Goreti's idea of orange curd, and raspeberry or strawberry would be really yummy as well.

Chestnut, hazelnut, a contrasting chocolate, (ie milk chocolate if the cake is dark), coffee or espresso, kahlua, coconut, vanilla bean, and I really like chai with chocolate.

Whipped chocolate ganache.  Very light in texture and delicious.  You can add flavors to it like Kahlua, or orange or strawberry.  Yum.  White chocolate with chocolate cake and chocolate ganache filling...a triple threat!

Whipped ganache is always a favorite with my customers. My personal favorite whipped Baileys ganache... yummmm!

What about a mousse. you can do it with any flavored instant pudding mix.

I am one who hates fruit and chocolate together.  I would use either ganache or Oreo filling.
