The are magnolias.

Dogwood blossoms only have 4 petals.  Google image magnolia flower.

I think it looks like magnolias. Here's a youtube tutorial if you like. You don't have to have special cutters for them, I have used my rose cutters and they came out great.

Minette Rushing's youtube video is all you need . It is a great one. I make nick lodge's and i have used minette's tutorial also. hth
