I've seen a beautiful cake with piped peacock feathers.  They have lots of gold swirl/lines coming off the feathers (metallic gold).  Would this be possible on buttercream?  If so... how do I do it?  Thanks.

Matalic gold is NOT edible - unless something new is on the market.      If the swirl are coming *off* the cake (stickikng out from) then most likely they are non-edible wires.
