You can use Wilton Candy melts that are pre-colored. They come in every color of the rainbow. Melt them down, add a few Tablespoons of shortening to thin it and dip your cake pops. :)

This is a good tutorial on how to make them http://cakecentral.com/a/how-to-make-cake-pops-step-by-step

You can use wilton's candy melts. They come in all of those colors. If you use the gel colors it will seize up on you. You can do it but you will have to add some oil or crisco to unseize it. Personally, I don't like the taste of the candy melts so I melt my frosting in the microwave for 30-45 seconds. You can just color it after it melts. It will harden as it cools.
