I need advice desperatley and FAST! I have a topsy turvy cake due TOMORROW and the boy wants chocolate mousse filling. I did the top tier last night (used my buttercream dam). I walked to the phone, came back and it had turned into a cake-mousse-buttercream parfait!!!! I need to find a good firm mousse to use in this cake!!!!!!

When I have to have a mousse filling I use a chocolate instant pudding but replace the milk with HEAVY whipping cream. Turns out wonderful every time and holds up really well.

Hope this helps and good luck!

I use Dr. Oetker's brand chocolate mousse mix..it holds up really well. I don't know if you will get it where you are located but you can try other store-bought instant chocolate mousse mix.

AI also use chocolate instant pudding with heavy cream. Works perfectly for me.
