Im working on a wedding cake for next week and its pretty simple white fondant with purple ribbon and a monogram plaque.  I was wanting to make the white---nicer---I had read somewhere Luster dust gives a plain white cake a great sheen..  All I could find at my local Hobby Lobby was Pearl Dust and Color Dust.  Does anyone have a thought on which would look better?

Pearl.  If you use color dust you may end up with a blotchy look.

Thank you!  Should I brush it on dry after the the fondant is already smoothed on the cake?
