So, I live here in Fairbanks, AK. It's a pretty small town. I am trying to figure out my prices for my business and have been researching what the other bakers in town charge for their cake. I found most of them are charging:

Buttercream cake $2.50 per serving

Fondant cake $3.00 per serving

A dozen cupcake $30.00

I am so surprised how low these bakers are charging. I mean, the cost of living here is really high compared to the lower 48! Even with the "cheapest" brand for ingredients here is not really cheap. I feel like these bakers are trying to match walmart/safeway/fred meyers cake prices. I've been trying to figure out how they are making any profit by their prices.
