AIs it possible to make gumpaste or fondant seashells without a mold?

I haven't made any myself but I guess you could just shape it with your hands and use a dresden tool or something similar to make the lines. For the twisted ones, maybe you can roll two pieces of fondant/gumpaste so they are a little bit thicker in one end and then twist them together?

I did an ocean theme birthday cake and made all the shells and decorations without a mold.

I used my ball tool to make the sea cucumbers and just twisted little pieces of fondant to make the shells and other decorations.icon_smile.gif
