Hi all- i'm trying to help a friend find a frosting/icing for cupcakes for her twins.

She wants something that doens't have refined sugar (no confectioners sugar) or any processed fake sugars (splenda/truvia/sugar free puddings or coolwhip).

Does anyone have any recipes or ideas?

I was thinking maybe pureeing strawberries and blending with strawberries adding some vanilla and then perhaps folding in fresh wipped cream?

Thoughts?

You could just use an unrefined sugar and make a Italian or French butter cream. I've used cane sugar in IMBC before.

Here's as similar recipe.

Without sugar the strawberries and cream still won't be very sweet, I love berries and unsweetened cream together, but not sure the kiddos would :) You could probably add some maple syrup to it, I've never done it, just read it online, lol.
