Hi.

A potential customer sent me a picture of what she called "vintage lace". Can anyone tell me how this is done? Is it sugar veil? Is it a stencil? She wants it in buttercream.

Any help is appreciated.

Looks to me like white on white piping, really fine tip.  Kind of henna like designs.

ACould be an overpiped impression mat pattern...I've seen a similar mat with the paisley pattern.

Thanks for the replies. I was afraid it was hand-piped. That is going to make it way out of her budget.

Evoir, I did find an impression mat with a similar design, but I don't think I could use something like that on buttercream could I? It is so detailed. I'm not sure it would show up in BC very well. Oh well, I'll just quote it to make it worth my while if she goes with me. I probably don't have to worry about it anyway. :)

I have a picture of that same cake a bride brought me, but then said it looked to busy, lol. I think it looks awesome! Definitely and budget buster and hand cramper, though!
