AWhat brand? If it is a decopac, I place it gingerly, dry, then lift up 1 corner at a time, and use a bit of water on a brush on the fondant. I will hold it with a piece of acetate, so my hands don't melt it. Move it as little as possible so it doesn't shred.

If I am using an icing images, I place it where I want it, mark it with a straight pen, pick it up, apply water or piping gel with a brush to the fondant, then stick the image on there, carefully lining it up.

ABe very careful! Just a little water to make it sticky, or your picture will run!!!

AYeah, they suck! That is why I place it, then just pick the edges up and stick them down. I recommend icing images premium sheets. They are expensive, but there is nothing better after having to work with those crappy sheets from kopykake.
