I live in a hot humid area of Australia, so I continually have problems with the weather and storing decorations and such.

Don't ever store in a plastic or sealed container where they will sweat, a cardboard box is best in the coolest dryest area you have.  I use a dehydrator during our wet summer months and have sometimes had to put decorations in and out a few times if they look like they're starting to moisten up with the humidity - but I never make a week in advance.

Good luck!
