Hi Guys,

I have been asked to make a Maserati  Birthday car Cake. I notice one on FB with real headlights. I was wondering which lights  to buy and where.. Also wonder about the headlight area. I was thinking of using Gelatin  for the glass. What do I use for the wheel center?

Any ideas or links  to 'How To' are welcome.

Thanks

Hi RUMCAKE I have a car cake coming up next month.  I have never seen a car cake with headlights, AWESOME!!!

I think maybe Hobby Lobby or Radio Sack might be a starting point. I put lights in a Pyramid gingerbread house with a plexiglass opening in it the kit I bought had 4 lights on leads with a battery pack that took 2 AA batteries with an on/off switch , I just built it into the design and covered it with color coordinating tape.  But I'm sure that they have something new out there that is better suited for what you are trying to accomplish   Kendra_83 gave me some very great advice on how to carve the cake check out her FB page.  HTH

Good luck!
