AHi everyone,

I have my first wedding cake for this weekend and the bride has asked for a red velvet cake! I haven't made one before and was hoping someone would be able to help me! I need a stable cake that is good for stacking and carving as this cake will be tiered! Would be much appreciated if anyone could help me out? A tested recipe would be best, thank you in advance!

AI use the Martha Stewart recipe. Google Martha Stewart red velvet recipe and pick the result that has the picture of the slices of cake.

AIt works very well. A lot of people recommend cakeman ravens recipe but the MS recipe is almost identical. I cut the oil back 1/4 cup and add more red food coloring than the recipe calls for. Otherwise it's more of a brown velvet. Make sure you use the Wilton no taste red. People rave over it.
