AWhat up peeps :)

I wanted to do a cake for practice and was thinking about doing chocolate ;) then I wondered about crumb coating with chocolate buttercream. Has anyone else done this or just use choco as a filling coated with white buttercream?

And for those using it as a filling do you still use a dam?

Thanks a bunch. Happy baking :)

AI much prefer chocolate buttercream on a chocolate cake. However, you can use whatever icing you like ;)

Chocolate bc for filling and icing on a chocolate cake is okey dokie, whatever you want.  I don't usually use a dam but occasionally have a tiny bit of a bulge on my BC cakes but not enough to bother me or my friends that eat the cakes.  I think it would really depend on how stiff your filling is.  If it is on the soft side, add some powdered sugar to part of it and use a dam just to be safe.
