AYes the whipped ganache works well for filling as well as borders. Could also use it to ice the cake

I usually put a reasonably thin layer of gnache in between my cakes as a filling rather than whipped gnache (maybe 3-5mm).

I prefer whipped ganache as a filling, I usually pair it with a fruit preserve like raspberry. Holds up great and tastes wonderful! Just a bit more pricey than buttercream.

AHow does whipped ganache differ from ganache once it is on cake? Is 1 better for under MMF or by itself or just as a filling?

I love the chocolate buttercream, but I also want to try alternatives. I'm going to be making my son's birthday cake this coming week and want to use ganache with chocolate cake.

TIA
