hi evryone :-)
happy new year
hope you could share some tips on how to make color black fondant shining, shimmering. im not sure if this thread already exist, if it does hope someone could redirect me to it :
many thanks
if you mix a bit of gum arabic with water and brush it on black fondant it will be as shiney as patent leather
i had to dab on cocoa to dumb it down a bit on my vintage shoe dealio but it's very very shiney
buttons & toe are 'patent leather' in contrast to the rest of the shoe
might not be the best example picture but the method can hardly be topped for sheen
here's an in process--see the shine even with the cocoa dabbed on
great shot of the trash can too--no extra charge :)
sorry, my bad, shoulda explained that better
it's just a white powder, gum arabic, comes in a bottle like a mccormack spice jar--skinny little bottle with screw on lid
a few dollars can be picked up online, gsa, maybe sweetwise
just a cool ingredient to use
also makes edible glitter and strengthens royal icing
thank you for ur prompt reply. i have to check if that is available locally here, i am from philippines. buying online might not a good choice, the cake is due on sunday. thanks for your help k8memphis
