if you mix a bit of gum arabic with water and brush it on black fondant it will be as shiney as patent leather

i had to dab on cocoa to dumb it down a bit on my vintage shoe dealio but it's very very shiney

buttons & toe are 'patent leather' in contrast to the rest of the shoe

might not be the best example picture but the method can hardly be topped for sheen

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), default quality

here's an in process--see the shine even with the cocoa dabbed on

great shot of the trash can too--no extra charge :)

sorry, my bad, shoulda explained that better

it's just a white powder, gum arabic, comes in a bottle like a mccormack spice jar--skinny little bottle with screw on lid

a few dollars can be picked up online, gsa, maybe sweetwise

just a cool ingredient to use

also makes edible glitter and strengthens royal icing
