Hello,
I have a request for a two tier buttercream chabby chic wedding cake. Not sure what Chabby chic really is! The only pics she showed me were a cake with lace ribbon on the bottom and another with lace fondant cutouts on one. Can anyone explain what exactly it means? Please.
Thanks Nicole
It would be best for your birde to provide you with a picture or two of what *she* wants. There are many choices regarding that style. Try googling 'shabby chic cakes.
I uploaded a wedding cake I did for a country shabby chic wedding. When the bride first requested it, I was like "What??" but after searching the internet and seeing some pics it really grew on me. For this cake I used lace, burlap(that makes the country part, LOL) and satin ribbon. Because the lace was going to touch the icing, I cut a strip of wax paper little less wide than the lace and wrapped that aroung each tier first.
Oh perfect example, beautiful work, Nanny1620, And definitely ask the bride as kakeladi sagely recommends.
It's like a bride saying she wants an 'elegant' cake. I mean they gotta narrow that down for yah some.
The footed lace topped mason jar toasting glasses are a nice touch too.
Yeah shabby chic is a blending of opposites.
