Hi guys! I want to know your favorite (from scratch please..) vanilla cake recipe. A cake moist, not too dense, can be curve, with a fine crumb (but does not crumble), and can be great for cupcakes too! A versatile cake that can be change in lemon or other flavor cake.
You know this recipe? ;)
Yeah it's in this book called Lalaland baking bible elperfecto cakes.
LOL!!! Just kidding.
Never tried it but FromscratchSF has a modified version of the scratch WASC that has gotten really good reviews. Tons of tips and variations. Check it out:

I like this one for a vanilla cake. It's easy and it bakes up nicely.

I use half butter and half vegetable oil in my recipe. It think it tastes better and stays moist longer.
I have to agree with vgcea. I have tried fromscratchsf's recipe and it's wonderful! It is now my go-to vanilla/white cake recipe. I've even used it for a cookies & cream version of the cake and it worked out beautifully. You will definitely be pleased with this recipe! It's great for cupcakes, too.
This is my first ever post!!!! Eeeeeek! I have to say, although I've been lurking for a loooong time, I love CC.
Thanks too for these fab sounding recipes, I'll be trying them both out this week!
Lxx
