Hi everyone, I have a recipe for a 2 x 6 "round pans and
I would like to make this a 12" round.
Any suggestions on how I would do this?
thank you
do i just double it and put it in a 12" pan?
I know this may sound like an easy answer to most, however I would like an answer pl.
Using pi r squared:
The area of a 6" cake is 28.25 sq"
The area of 12 " cake is 113 sq"
the area of a 12 inch circle is 4 times the area of a 6 " circle
if you want the cake to be the same thickness, you will need 4 times the amount of batter for a 12" cake. If your original recipe made two 6 " layers, then doubling it will make one 12" layer . HTH
You're awesome. I knew a math genius would find it's way to me. I will do just that. I just needed it to be explained in my language. thx a bunch
