Birthday Cake Recipe?!!!

Hi!! Im making a birthday cake and will proberbly be using sugarpaste to decorate!! I want a REALLY nice chocolate recipe that can be left out of the fridge as NEARLY everyone says you cant put a sugarpaste cake in the fridge, or can you?! icon_razz.gif
Also does anyone know if you can color white ganache with the wilton candy colors that i use to color plain white chocolate!!!!

Yes you can put a fondant covered cake in the fridge. Just don't touch it as it's coming down to room temperature.

Two good recipes are the Hershey's chocolate cake (lighter) and the Double Chocolate Layer cake (denser) from Epicurious.

I don't know about using the candy melts. I personally think they taste disgusting so I would just use regular coloring for your ganache.
