Hi Ladies,
I was wondering if someone has any tips on how to create ruching effect with fondant, like the second tier of this cake http://www.brides.com/blogs/aisle-say/best-wedding-cakes-of-2011-4.jpg . Thanks in advance for your help!!!

First you cover that tier with a smooth layer of fondant and finish smoothing the top.

Then you roll a thin strip of fondant that is a little longer than the circumference of the tier, and several inches wider.

Take your fingers and loosely bunch that extra width together on the table so that the strip becomes the same width as the height of that tier. Then wrap it around the cake (maybe with an extra pair of hands to help hold up the length).
