Excellent recovery! I think it looks really good, I'm scared of squares let alone that petal tin!

I agree with SugaredSaffron, that pan is scary-intimidating to me. For a beginner u rocked at first baking in such a pan, then decorating it fixing a problem that was no joke.

That is a great save! looks soo much better. Disasters are awful and at 2am we do sometimes wonder why we are doing this! But it is exactly these terrible situations that we learn so much from. Glad it is all done and you can relax

WOW! You should be very proud of yourself! The cake turned out very nice! I suspect a lot of people would have given up after that first attempt but you kept at it and made a fantastic recovery! Good job!

I was just searching and came across a wedding cake you did and then found this post.  I am so impressed that you shared your cake, took the hard criticism and then did a fantastic job in fixing the cake.  It turned out GREAT.  You gave me hope in my wedding cake due this weekend.  I am stressing but determined to make it through.
