Note the changes for strawberry:

Strawberry or raspberry cake replace all the milk/buttermilk and ½ of the sour cream with pureed berries.

Oh just remembered another option if you don't want to use berries is to add a box of dry Jello to the dry mix, then proceed as directed.

Alternatively, you could use a recipe of a white cake you already know and love and add a high quality strawberry flavoring like Hero Compounds or icing fruit

But this is vanilla cake with strawberry filling. You can use strawberries also for decoration. I usually prepare this cake for my daughter's birthdays, because she really loves it.
