Hello,

So I make WASC as my go to cake and love it very much! A friend is asking me to make strawberry cake... is there a way to tweak the recipe to strawberry cake?

Do I add pureed strawberries? Strawberry extract? Help please!

OR is there another way to turn a boxed cake into a strawberry cake?

Thanks so much in advance!

HI,
I have made the wasc cake using the strawberry box mix and to me it was gross. I always use the wasc mix for my white, yellow and choc cakes but the strawberry just didn't taste good. I know it was the box mix. So this is the recipe I use and everyone seems to love it.It turns out red or pinkish and not that fake color the box mix gives.

1 box white cake mix
3 TB sifted flour
3/4 cup cold water
3 egg whites or 2 whole eggs
1/2 cup strawberry puree (I leave mine a little chunky)

Grease and flour pan. Add the first 5 ingred and beat at medium speed. Add strawberries and mix well.
Bake 350 for 30-35 min. Makes a 9X13
