I am trying to make fondant/gp carnations but I don't have any special foam mats. I have a veiner mat for leaves that seems to be a heavy rubber material--I guess I could use the backside, but I think this is too firm for balling petals, right?

Anyone ever rig something that worked? I can't find a spare piece of packaging foam or anything, of course icon_smile.gif Then I can't think of what I would lay over it--I would think wax paper would crinkle with the pressure and mess up the petal. Anything else, like a paper towel or tissue may stick to the fondant/gp.

Any ideas!?

A garden kneeler pad without a pattern works well. Another option is a piece of the thicker (6mm) "fun foam" (use white or the color can come off).
