Using Fondant On Cupcakes...help!

Hi everyone
First time using fondant on cupcakes so just need some advice icon_smile.gif
Just wanted to know if i were to make little fondant balls and put them onto buttercream cupcakes would I need some sort of glue to hold the fondant balls together?

What type of design are doing? I would use a little water on the balls if they are meant to stick together. Otherwise, the icing should hold them in place.

Thanks for the reply...yes would like the balls to stick together in groups of 3 or even have them round the edge of the cupcake like a border.

If your frosting is soft just sticking them on it will work. If it is crusted a little water or fresh frosting will work
