Hey all!

My son wants Mario cupcakes for his birthday and I would really like to try a mosaic. I tried to search for cupcake mosaics but didn't have much luck finding what I was looking for. I've never done a one before and I'm wondering what would be the best and easiest way to execute this....do you make the entire picture and then cut the discs out of that or would you attempt to do each peice seperately? The first option sounds much easier to me, but then I'm wondering how much of the picture would be missed by cutting out the discs and if it would change the effect of the cake. Has anyone tried this?
