I recently entered the sugarcraft world and started my own small business with my sister
I really would like to know what is the best thing to make roses with? those big beautiful real life roses. Should i use gum-trex, cmc, flower paste? im very confused. Also the best site from where i can order it..
Take care.

I use a mixture of fondant (I make my own marshmallow fondant) and Wilton gumpaste. Have had good luck with that.
Please to go this website. She has wonderful tutorials ,etc. Also when i make rose or any large flowers, I use either nick lodges recipe or wiltons premade g/p. I want all the strength for large g/p flowers. I sometimes mix the two. hth

Edna de la Cruz also has some great tutorials for roses. If you want to take a look, it's at http://designmeacake.com/tutorials.html
I really like using Nick Lodge's gum paste for all my flowers. With it I find I can achieve really thin petals. I keep it in the refrigerator and store several bags in the freezer. You do have to work quickly with it, however, for it dries rapidly. A little fondant mixed in would extend your working time.
Good luck with your venture.
