I am currently working on my stargazer petals for the flowers but I am trying to figure out the best way to make a closed bud. Any help greatly appreciated.

I've made a couple of lilies on my cakes (stargazer & purple lilies in my photos) and I've just used gumpaste to sort of shape it and then indented up the sides slightly to show where the leaves would separate when the bud would open. Then inserted a wire into the bud and taped the wire. If you look at a pic of a bud, it makes it a lot easier to fashion way. Hope this helps.
